
READING & WRITING
At All Ages Speech Pathology we use our knowledge of education and speech pathology to assist with identifying literacy difficulties and selecting an intervention method. We are trained in the "Spalding Method" for teaching reading, writing and spelling, in addition to having tertiary education qualifications in teaching.

Reading skills include:
Knowing the sounds letters make in different word positions,
Decoding words,
Comprehending what you have read,
Understanding a wide range of vocabulary,
Inferring information by "reading between the lines".
Being able to identify the main idea, setting and sequence of events.

Writing skills include:
Knowledge of spelling rules,
Identifying and using a range of writing structures,
Knowing your audience,
Utilising study skills to assist with researching and organising your ideas.
